Being a New Media Specialist at FreightCenter

Fresh out of college I was very excited to land my first job. After several months with no luck I applied to FreightCenter and was hired on at first as an intern, then nine days later full time. Things were finally looking up. Not only did I find a company to work for, but I found a company that encourages people to share their ideas. That is what I love about working for FreightCenter. From sales agents to upper management, everyone is working and creating new ways to push this company forward. And, on top of that there is so much room for employees and the company itself to grow. 

Being a part of the marketing team is also special. As a New Media Specialist I design emails to be used in our various email marketing strategies. I also design graphics to be used on social media, emails, sales collateral, billboards, etc.  I have a hand in how this company is perceived by the outside world. We are the voice that communicates to our customers who we are and what we stand for. I take great pride in creating beautiful content that not only engages the customer but drives them to stay in the FreightCenter family. It has also been a non-stop learning experience since day one. I knew nothing about the freight industry when I first got here, which I might add was daunting at first. But, everyone here has been a fantastic teacher for me. 

Every day it seems I learn something new, especially from our new marketing director who has plenty of experience working for 3rd party logistics. She is leading the way on some major changes throughout the company. We have an incredible marketing team here that I love being a part of. Although we may be young we bring a lot of great energy to the table.
